DENTAL IMPLANTS
Through advanced training and multiple CE courses, Dr. Gibbons and Dr. Miles are proficient at placing and restoring dental implants. The procedure is usually performed with local anesthesia, and other options are available to help you stay comfortable. With implants, a good mental approach is "there is less going on here than meets the eye". The procedure is relatively fast and patients typically report minimal discomfort. At the end of the procedure, a lot of patients with a tone of pleasant surprise ask, "That's it?"
Currently, there are three ways to replace a missing tooth or multiple teeth. These include implants, bridges, or removable partial dentures. Of these three, an implant is usually the best option when there is enough supporting structure (bone and tissue) present. An implant restoration is made up of three parts: the implant, the abutment and the crown.
